How to Hard Reset Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
Sometimes it is nessacary to perform a hard reset to bring your handset back to factory settings. The procedure to do so on a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is as follows.
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Soft Reset
Using the dialing keypad type in *#7370# and then inter your lock code (default is 12345).
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Hard Reset
In order to perform a hard reset on your Nokia 5800XM, enter the following key combination
Ensure your handset is turned off then,
Press and hold the, Green key, Red key + Camera Key and press the On button.
The device will then resert in it’s default factory settings with all handset data removed.

What do you do if you can’t even turn off the damned phone?
Mine is stuck on the ‘whitescreen’ – a white background, with the word NOKIA on it. No going forward, no going backward, just sits there, chewing its battery.
The whole phone is under TWO WEEKS OLD, so if anyone’s reading this and considering buying this phone, DON’T!

pulling the battery out generally fixes that one.
happens to mine occasionally. a quick battery pull always does the trick.

There are several reasons why this may happen. The same has happened to me. Found out that there was 2 solutions.
1. The easiest way: You can take your memory card out and start the phone normally. Sometimes it is because you have downloaded a program that is causing the problem, and this can be stored on the memory card!
2. Complicated: You can reset the phone to its factory settings. First you must turn off the phone. Then press the buttons Green + Red + Camera, and then turn on the phone.

forgotten lock code tried hard reset and default lock code 12345 with no joy can anyone give any advice on what to try now

My phone 5800 XpressMusic has suddenly stopped working, the problem is that touch screen is not working so that i am even unable to connect the phone to the PC because it asks to select PC suite mode which can;t be connected without touch screen.. secondly when i take the battery out it is switched off ofcourse, but i cannot apply hard reset even.. because when i re-insert the battery, the phone switches on without touching the power button..
please help me with this problem.. thanks
