How To: Increase the speed of your Nokia N95 & S60 WiFi Browsing
If you are a frequent user of WiFi on an S60 device such as a Nokia N95 then here is a great little tip to help squeeze a bit more speed out of your wifi connection.
By default the WiFi Power Saving option is turned on in your handsets WiFi Settings. By disabling this option you can increase the speed of your wifi connection by a noticable degree.
To turn off the Power Saving Option just follow these simple steps.
- Open the menu and then go to;
- Tools then
- Settings, then
- Connection and select
- Wireless LAN
- Press the “Left Softkey” marked “Options”
- Select ‘Advanced Settings” from the menu
- When asked if you want to continue answer “Yes”
- You will then see an option “Automatic Configuration” marked as “Enabled”
- Select this option to change to ‘Disabled”
- Scroll to the bottom option “Power saving”
- Select this option to toggle to “Disabled”
- Exit and you are done.
You should now see an increase in your handsets wifi browser speed however be warned this will cause a hit in your handsets battery life.
