iPhone on everyones mind..
The recently announced Apple iPhone would have to be one of the most talked about tech launches since… hhmmm.. a long time! The vast majority of talk has been extremely positive and the iPhone looks set to be the “must” have of 2007/2008.
As a mobile technologist i have already been asked more times than i can count “when will it be available in Australia?”, the short answer is “not till next year”.
This is not nessacarilly a bad thing however as as with all new technology there will inveriably be a mountain of bugs and problems with the first version which will need to be worked out. I am sure that Apple has had the handset in extensive testing however launch teething problems are inevitable.
I would estimate that by the time the iPhone launches here in Australia in 2008 we will be up to version 3 with better battery life, more features and possibly a smaller form factor.
This still doesnt stop me from wanting it right now!
