Top 10 Firefox Extensions
I am a Firefox convertee. As a web developer i still must use IE however for my everyday research and browsing i am 100% Firefox 2.0.
One of my favourite features of Firefox is the massive developer community constantly developing and updating a plethora of extensions and addons.
Here are my Top 10 Firefox Extensions:
1. Adblock Plus - I am not a fan of web advertising! Yes i know it pays the bills and you will even see it on this site but where possible i will try to avoid it! This extension does a great job of removing it.
2. PermaTabs - There are five sites that remain open on my browser constantly to prevent me having to constantly navigate back to these sites i can lock them to remain in my tab bar permanently.
3. FaviconizeTab - Coupled with PermaTabs this extension shrinks my chosen tabs down to their small favicon saving heaps of space in my tab bar.
4. Google Browser Sync - I love Google! This one syncs my bookmarks, history, passwords ans session info with my Google Account. This can then be accessed across any computer i choose and helps recover my last web session in case of a Firefox crash.
5. TabMix Plus - Gives me complete control over how my tabs work.
6. FasterFox - Don’t know if it actually does work but i like to think that it does!
7. GreaseMonkey - whilst it can do a hell of a lot i just like a little script called Gmail Signature Float that moves my Gmail signature to the top of my email instead of right down the bottom.
8. Viamatic foXpose - displays all of my tabs in one window. great for when i have a heap of tabs open with the same title.
9. Download Embeded - lets me download my favourite YouTube and Google Video movies for later playback.
10. SearchStatus - not helpful to all but allows me to quickly see the Google PageRank and Alexa stats for the current website.
