Connect a bluetooth headset to your mobile phone
Many people get stuck when trying to connect or “pair” their new bluetooth headset or device to their mobile phone. The main problem people seem to face is either getting their headset into “pairing mode” to begin with then what the “Pass Key” is to authorise the pairing.
Unfortunately all headsets have a different method of activating “pairing mode” however if you have misplaced your manual you can try these options:
Option 1. Hold the power button for 3 to 10 seconds
Option 2. Hold both power and volume buttons for 3 to 10 seconds
When the headset enters pairing mode it should either:
1. Beep or make some form of unique sound
2. The power light should light up and stay solid (not flashing); or
2. The power light will alternate colours eg. blue and red.
Once in pairing mode you will need to activate Bluetooth on your mobile device and set it to “Search for devices”
Once your headset or device has been found you will need to select it and you should be prompted to enter a ‘Pass Key”.
Most headsets will use one of two(2) pass keys:
1234 or 0000
Once paired your headset should automatically connect each time you receive or make a call.
Remember to wait until you hear a ringing in your headset before you hit the answer button on the headset.
If you answer the phone using the handset the headset may not latch onto the call and you will need to use the handset as normal.
